autologous pericardium to reconstruct tracheobronchial airway in malignant disease
we present two cases where a free autologous pericardial flap was used to reconstruct a defect on the membranous pars of the carina in one patient with esophageal cancer, and posterior part of the intermediate bronchus-right lower bronchus in another patient with pulmonary metastasis. This is a useful, effective, easy and economic tool that should be in mind of any surgeon who treats with such kind of pathology.
